Anthony Theakston
Anthony Theakston studied ceramics for six years graduating from Bristol with an Honours Degree in Ceramics and then from Cardiff with a Master of Arts Degree in Ceramic Design in 1990. After studying he lectured for five years at Camberwell College of Arts and also at Falmouth school of Art whilst establishing himself as a studio ceramicist.
βHe became a Crafts Council selected member in 1991, travelling under their umbrella to exhibit at major events such as the Gift fairs in New York, San Francisco and with early representation by renowned gallerist Adrian Sassoon and Contemporary Applied Arts amongst numerous galleries in both the UK and USA.
Over the last few years he has been working with a foundry to cast his sculptures in bronze, which has offered a scope of scale not afforded with slip cast ceramics. His artworks are collected and exhibited worldwide and there are examples in several museums in the UK.
